TTT PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

Jan Borden has been selected as TTT’s Spotlight!  Jan, a teacher and mother of two college-age children, has been a loyal TTT member for approximately five years and has been playing tennis for about six years.  She chose tennis because it is a sport you can play for years to come.  Jan gets her tennis fix by playing in the USTA league, local tournaments, and scheduling weekly matches with friends.  Jan started as a 3.0 player and has recently earned a 3.5 rating after she captained TTT’s 3.0 women’s USTA league in the Fall of 2012.  The team not only earned their way to Sectionals for the Southern California USTA League,  they made TTT history won and their division!!!  Jan attributes her team’s success to the love of the game, camaraderie amongst the her teammates, and healthy level of competition.    According to Jan, she did not schedule regular practice sessions; rather, her teammates would make a habit of getting together a few times a week just to hit for fun. The more they played together, the more comfortable they felt with each other on the courts.  That comfort level not only created trust amongst the players, but a cohesive team that had confidence in knowing they were just as competitive as other leagues.  Jan Borden and 3.0 women’s team deserve the TTT Spotlight for their love of tennis and representing TTT as Southern California USTA Champs!!!
